St. Mary's Online Academy (SMOA) is a global online learning platform offered by St. Mary's School, a renowned U.S. private preparatory school located in Medford, Oregon.

Our school started in 1865 in southern Oregon, located on the beautiful west coast of the United States of America. Our integrated online courses are taught by an experienced American faculty whose skills and commitment are second to none.

We take pride in the program we deliver to your child! Courses are taught during normal school hours in Asian standard time. Online and offline learning networks are available to students.Live classroom and in-person, on-campus instruction is available.Students choose to attend online learning only or a combined offline/onsite learning environment. Rowelyn L. Odod, Ph.D, is the Science Department Chair at St. Mary’s School System. She’s a graduate of Doctor of Philosophy in Development Research Administration at University of Southeastern Philippines. She’s been an educator for 15 years, where she spent her first 2 years in teaching elementary pupils and 13 years in secondary level. She had a background in teaching Sciences (General Science, Biology, Chemistry and Physics for more than 10 years), Math, Social Sciences, Human Philosophy, Statistics and Practical Research (for 3 years).Currently, she’s teaching at St. Mary’s School, handling Math and Science subjects ( AP Statistics and AP Physics 1). Aside from teaching, she’s also into Research and Statistics. She was a Master Teacher I in her country before she came in China last February 22, 2018.

It was her biggest desire to teach outside her country to experience cultural and anthropological diversity. Having diverse students post a great challenge on her. The working environment, the culture, the place, and the people especially the students attracted her most in China.

Further, she loves reading books and going to different places with her family. She loves to explore more of the place, learn more from the experience and understand the peculiarity of the culture. Her favorite quote is from Henry Adams “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.”
