St. Mary's Online Academy (SMOA) is a global online learning platform offered by St. Mary's School, a renowned U.S. private preparatory school located in Medford, Oregon.

Our school started in 1865 in southern Oregon, located on the beautiful west coast of the United States of America. St. Mary's School has grown to provide an authentic American elementary, middle, and high school education to students in China, South Korea, Vietnam, and other parts of the world. Our integrated online courses are taught by an experienced American faculty whose skills and commitment are second to none.

We take pride in the program we deliver to your child! Courses are taught during normal school hours in Asian standard time. Online and offline learning networks are available to students.Live classroom and in-person, on-campus instruction is available.Students choose to attend online learning only or a combined offline/onsite learning environment. Students earn credits and receive transcripts and diplomas from St. Mary's School in Oregon.We offer a strong, professional and experienced bilingual tutoring team available to your student.One-to-one academic guidance and family education consultation is offered to all SMOA students and families. Mrs. Hall Bravo Ramírez is an artist and educator with seven years of teaching experience. She has taught a variety of courses, including English as a Second Language to youth in Mexico, and Spanish and Visual Art to elementary and high school students in the United States. She has a M.A. in Art Education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and her work in film and video has garnered awards at international film festivals. Her favorite way to spend her time is creating art, surfing, reading, and exploring the city she lives in.
As an educator, she is committed to designing learning environments that inspire and empower students to reach their full potential. She believes an educator’s role is to recognize and implement the reserve of knowledge that youth obtain from their cultural backgrounds and diverse experiences. She views these as pathways to life-long learning and an intellectual resource, and as a result, is committed to offering students an inclusive, equitable, and culturally relevant education.

06Course Description
Students will learn how to formulate sentences and dialogues through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Cultural activities will accompany language lessons to acquaint students with food, artistic expression, and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.

Introduce yourself to others; exchange personal information; ask and answer questions; express likes and dislikes; gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world; develop new insights into the nature of language and culture that will allow you to establish comparisons not only between Spanish and Chinese, but also between Hispanic cultures and Chinese culture.
