St. Mary's Online Academy (SMOA) is a global online learning platform offered by St. Mary's School, a renowned U.S. private preparatory school located in Medford, Oregon.

Our school started in 1865 in southern Oregon, located on the beautiful west coast of the United States of America. Ms.Selda Acar graduated from Turkey's best fine arts academy, which is Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, she received higher education on Textile and art. She has degrees in various design competitions. She worked on fashion in London, England, prepared special collections, and taught painting and art for an early age. She worked as an art teacher in different courses and schools between 2005-2013. She also gave her students preparatory training for the art academy entrance exams.

06Course Description

In this course, students will learn to use creative art resources such as drawings, prints, sketches, color theory and schemes, and crafts in fashion and textile design, and to prepare a fashion collection with a mood board. They will be able to express themselves and develop their creativity in the fashion world. It will introduce them to the fashion art, elements, principles, history of fashion, different fashion design styles, fashion and textile design materials, different body shapes, and silhouettes, body proportions, drawing fashion illüstrations, flat (technical) drawings, and the world of important designers. With these art resources they have learned, they will gain new skills and discover their hidden talents with these tools. It will also give them an international fashion understanding of creative forms in fashion design. With this artistic perspective, they will be able to criticize fashion designs at the beginning level and generate ideas.

The required materials will be notified to the student at least one week before the lesson.

08Course Objectives
It is a beginner-level curriculum designed to train people who design and draw today's and future garments and accessories that complement the garment and transform the model drawn into a pattern when necessary and realize the first trial product.
