Local Support Coordinator
Location: Sacramento, CA (Field Based)
Status: Independent Contractor
Position Overview
Cambridge Network is seeking a dedicated and proactive Local Support Coordinator to serve as a vital link between our international students and their host families. This role is responsible for ensuring student well-being, supporting host families, and strengthening our local presence through regular check-ins, event planning, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and an excellent communicator who thrives in a flexible, community-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Regular Duties:
- Conduct mandated in-home check-ins for students throughout the academic year:
- New Students: Three visits per year (one within 30 days of arrival, one per subsequent semester).
- Returning Students: One visit per semester.
- Prepare and submit detailed check-in reports meeting company standards within 72 hours of each student meeting.
- Plan, organize, and execute two in-person student events per school year.
- Attend and actively participate in required monthly virtual staff meetings and training sessions.
Additional Duties (As Assigned & Pre-Approved):
- Support local host recruitment efforts by distributing flyers and representing Cambridge Network at community events.
- Conduct in-person site visits for newly recruited host families.
- Perform in-person home verifications for existing host families.
- Provide urgent and emergency support to students and host families as situations arise.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in student support, social work, education, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity and empathy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to conduct home visits.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and timely report writing.
- Must pass a background check.
Online Tutor (U.S.-Based Experience Required)
Reports To: Academic Advisor
Employment Type: Part-time, Remote
Compensation: Bi-weekly invoicing
Position Overview
CreativeK12 is seeking experienced Online Tutors with a minimum of three years of teaching experience in the United States to provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects, ESL, and test preparation. All instruction must be delivered in English. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in U.S. curricula and standards, along with proven success in improving student performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and/or small-group online tutoring sessions entirely in English in standard school subjects, ESL, and/or test preparation for students assigned by CreativeK12.
- Coordinate tutoring schedules with the CreativeK12 Academic Advisor for individual and group sessions.
- Assess students’ subject knowledge and/or English proficiency levels; develop customized lesson plans and curricula based on U.S. educational standards and student needs.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to CreativeK12’s designated online platforms (Zoom and/or ClassIn).
- Complete and submit session reports via TeachWorks within 24 hours after each tutoring session.
- Monitor students’ academic performance and collaborate with U.S.-based school teachers and administrators as needed.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by CreativeK12.
- Attend bi-annual check-in meetings with CreativeK12 administration.
- Adhere to guidelines outlined in the Instructor Handbook, including punctuality, camera-on policy, and session recording when required.
- Submit invoices every two weeks by Monday of the third week.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
- Minimum three years of teaching experience in the United States, preferably in K-12 settings.
- For test prep roles: three years of experience in test preparation instruction (SAT, ACT, AP, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.) is required.
- Fluent English instruction ability; all teaching must be conducted in English.
- Familiarity with U.S. curricula and assessment methods.
- TESOL/TEFL certification preferred for ESL roles.
- Strong communication, organizational, and intercultural teaching skills.
- Reliable internet connection and professional remote teaching setup.
