At Cambridge Network, we are always proud to see our partner schools create meaningful opportunities for international students to share their culture and traditions. This week, Vanguard College Preparatory School in Waco, Texas, did just that by hosting a special Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on campus.
The event highlighted the voices of Vanguard’s international students, who led presentations on the history and meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival. They shared traditions from their home countries through engaging slide presentations, storytelling, and even authentic mooncakes for their classmates to enjoy. Domestic students had the chance to learn directly from their peers about the importance of family gatherings, the symbolism of the full moon, and the cultural significance of this holiday across Asia.
We believe that moments like this are essential in the cultural exchange experience. When schools provide a platform for international students to showcase their heritage, they not only create a sense of pride and belonging for those students, but also build an inclusive and globally minded school community.
