Cambridge Schools Preparing for 2019 Recruitment

As summer approaches and many begin thinking about beach days, hiking and relaxation, the team at Cambridge Network can think of only one thing: Spring/Fall 2019 Recruitment! We are already 3-4 months ahead of schedule and need your help in maintaining this tremendous momentum.

Outlined below are four important steps Cambridge and its member schools need to complete in order to fully prepare for upcoming recruitment efforts. The earlier we complete everything, the more your school will be incorporated into promotion and training and the better we will be able to represent your school in our recruitment efforts.

Review Marketing Material

Photos, videos and content – oh my!

Recruitment school members were recently provided the 2017-2018 academic year marketing and promotion materials/content to review and were asked to share areas of improvement in two distinct areas: content and photos.

Cambridge Network’s school branding/promotion maintains a strong level of integrity and strength thanks to your school’s year round involvement. Accurate, up-to-date information has never been so important and works best alongside current international student success stories.

We are asking all schools to submit feedback no later than Wednesday, June 13, 2018.

Establish Student Recruitment (SR) Plan

An SR Plan is a mutual, strategic direction for the type of students your school wishes to admit and is established prior to each recruitment season. More so, it is what our global sales teams utilizes in order to know your school’s admissions requirements and goals.

The SR plan highlights applicant requirement such as:

  • Number of open seats (students you are open to recruiting)
  • Grade level(s)
  • Gender restrictions
  • Test score requirement(s)
  • Housing model
  • Minimum/maximum graduation age

This information is shared with our 700+ recruitment partners and therefore must be set in stone before opening your school for admissions. We will screen all student applicants to ensure they meet these initial requirements.

We cannot change this information once it’s shared with our recruitment partners; otherwise, the SR plan will be seen as “unreliable” and may cause our partners to stop recommending us to prospective families. The only exception would be to open up additional seats if both the school and Cambridge agree to the change and it is certain the program can accommodate a larger number of students. To explain, if a school alters the number of open seats or restricts what type of applicant can apply after confirming said details, our recruitment partners could be put in a position where they inform a student client s/he can apply and then later have to go back and break that promise.

Spring 2019 deadline is July 1, 2018.

Fall 2019 deadline is September 1, 2018.

Finalize Tuition

We understand that tuition for the next fall is typically established between December and February of each academic year. However, as the international market matures, wire transactions have gained stricter limitations, and natural parents are becoming more budget conscious of their investments. Our hope is to see a trend of tuition amounts being approved earlier and earlier each year.

The earlier a school confirms their next year’s tuition, the more of a competitive edge they have yielding stronger traction, promotion and confidence throughout the market.

Approve Admission Templates

Our goal of working through templates is to reduce the administrative work schools traditionally need to handle. More so, we aim to have a balance of standardized network documents while still adhering to school-specific requirements. It’s this operational efficiency that drives student recruitment results between schools, Cambridge and agencies.

Each Cambridge Network school has two full-time staff members located in the US and China doing 24/7 work on promotion and issuing/collecting admissions paperwork.

  • Decision Letters: Cambridge has acceptance, rejection, and waitlist templates that we will forward for your review. You can edit these templates as you see fit. Cambridge will save these templates on file and send them on your behalf after we receive your admissions decision for a given applicant.
  • Enrollment Contract: Our bilingual enrollment contract clearly states the tuition and fees parents would pay as well as arrival dates and services provided by you and/or Cambridge. This language also reflects any special changes made to the agreement between Cambridge and the school.
  • Matriculation Packet (Mat-pak): These are all the forms parents and doctors will need to sign prior to the student’s arrival. Cambridge has a standard matriculation packet that we’ve compiled after years of research and working with various partners. All of our forms are bilingual for the ease of parents’ understanding. Additionally, our Global Teams have been trained on all these forms and how to explain what parents would need to do in order to accurately complete all forms. Using these documents ensures student paperwork will be completed more accurately with fewer mistakes, as well as more quickly and makes your process more attractive to potential recruiters.
