Experiencing the Spirit of College Life: Boston Students Attend a Harvard Football Game!

Last month, our Cambridge Network international students in the Boston area got to experience one of America’s most iconic traditions — a college football game! Our Local Support Coordinator organized an outing to watch Harvard University take on their rivals, giving students a true taste of campus life and school spirit.

They cheered in the stands, learned the chants, and joined in the excitement that fills the air at every touchdown. Beyond the fun and energy, this outing offered something even more valuable — a connection to the heart of American culture and the student experience that awaits many of them in their own educational journeys.

Building Cultural Confidence and Community

Engaging in local events like this helps international students feel more at home and confident navigating life in a new country. They begin to understand the traditions, enthusiasm, and sense of belonging that are so central to student life in the U.S. These shared moments also strengthen friendships among Cambridge students and their local community — creating a sense of support that extends far beyond the classroom.

Preparing for the Future

Attending a Harvard football game might seem like just a fun weekend activity, but it’s also a window into the future. For many of our students, college is right around the corner. Seeing firsthand the spirit and culture of an American university can motivate them to dream bigger, set academic goals, and picture themselves on a campus like Harvard one day. It’s an experience that blends inspiration, connection, and the excitement of what lies ahead.

At Cambridge Network, we believe that every cultural experience contributes to a student’s growth — helping them not only succeed in the present but also build confidence and curiosity for the future.
