Communication Fundamentals in the Time of COVID-19 | Cambridge Network Training Series

Last week, Cambridge Network kicked off our school facing training series with our first webinar titled ‘Communication Fundamentals in the Time of COVID-19’. Each year, Cambridge Network hosts its annual School Summit bringing together educators from around the country alongside our global staff to share international education best practices. This year, Cambridge Network has transitioned its 2020 School Summit to be completely virtual and accessible to all of our school members. We are proud to launch our first webinar in our series aimed at sharing communication essentials during the coronavirus pandemic.

As an industry leader, we pride ourselves in enriching our school partners with practical and relevant expertise in international education. 68 schools from around the country joined our webinar, which was presented by two of our Cambridge Network Program Managers, Craig Batson and Stephen Van Niekerk. The webinar outlined the essential communication and marketing tools that schools should be committing to in order to improve their international community outreach and manage expectations around their international student programs during this unprecedented global crisis. After providing context to international family concerns and requests, the webinar addressed online learning accessibility, international travel restrictions, and summer homestay options to help school partners to meet the needs of their international community through concise and frequent communication. The webinar was very well received, evidenced by the robust discussions and the excellent school policies released to families in the days since. One attendee responded, “This information provided a great outline and explanation of many of the topics that are so unclear during this time.” We urge schools to continue to consult with their Cambridge Network Program Manager as we navigate this difficult time and look to meet the needs of school communities and our international families simultaneously.
